Held by the Ghost Devil, Aki remembers Himeno and realizes that fear guides the creature's attacks. He calms himself, walks through its motionless arms, and cuts off its head after receiving a reminder of Himeno. Akane attempts to summon the Snake Devil, but Kobeni captures her. Elsewhere, Denji confronts Samurai Sword, and their transformed battle moves onto a train. Samurai Sword severs Denji's arms and assumes victory, but Denji reveals a chainsaw blade from his leg and cuts him apart. After the enemy returns to human form, Denji proposes a contest with Aki: they repeatedly kick the captive between the legs as a private memorial for Himeno. Public Safety cannot interrogate Akane because the Snake Devil kills her under an existing contract. Makima reports that the recovered Gun Devil flesh has joined their previous fragment, giving the agency a stronger trail toward its target, though the attackers' exact relationship with the Gun Devil remains uncertain. Later, Denji, Aki, and Power share a meal and fall asleep at home. Denji dreams of a closed door in an alley, where Pochita warns him not to open it. A woman's voice then asks whether he prefers the country mouse or the city mouse.
