The six Devil Hunters test the hotel's corridors and rooms but find that the eighth floor has become an enclosed loop. Clocks have stopped, outside communication is impossible, and the team cannot reach another floor. Aki organizes food and water while fear steadily divides the group. Himeno tells Denji how she became Aki's partner and encouraged him to smoke, then admits that beneath his severe manner Aki still wants to live. The Devil they killed earlier expands into a vast mass filling the stairwell and identifies itself as the Eternity Devil. It offers to release everyone if they kill Denji and feed it his heart. Aki and Himeno reject the bargain, but Kobeni panics and attacks Denji, while Arai begins to consider the proposal. Their terror strengthens the Devil, which rotates the floor and closes in on the survivors. When Kobeni charges again, Aki shields Denji and is stabbed. Power tries to control his bleeding, and Himeno becomes desperate to save him. Denji notices that the Eternity Devil fears his chainsaws and reasons that pain may force it to surrender. He jumps willingly into its mouth, transforms, and begins cutting through it from inside.
